Description:

There’s no secret that the closer we get to the February love holiday – we’re not even ready to say it out loud its name -, the more we need showing off and receiving affection. Cuddlr has been a 100% real and not a dating app, we all should be aware of that, says the creator of it Meanwhile, Cuddlr became Spooner, but let's see what it's all about.

How it works

Cuddlr is a location-based app that identifies individuals in the immediate proximity who are registered for an innocent cuddle. The main functioning principle is like the one from Tinder. That’s why some newspapers named it “Tinder for cuddling”. Though, the goal is platonic embrace and no age criteria. Users are shown only a name and picture (because cuddling compatibility knows no age) of potential snuggle buddies. If you accept one another within a 15-minute window, then you can exchange details about where to meet up and then see real-time walking directions of where the other person is as he or she approaches. That’s new and different functionality from the ones on Tinder. It’s more similar to Uber from this perspective. You can track your future cuddle buddy on GPS and his route.

How to register

You’ll need a Facebook account to register; Facebook is also the source of your Cuddlr profile photo. We should repeat that the app doesn’t reveal gender or age, so filtering is only by looks.

Founder Charlie Williams talked about the app’s unique functionalities: A cuddle is longer than a hug but shorter than a date, so you’re not faced with having to sit through a drink or two if you’ve decided someone isn’t for you: you can politely end a cuddle anytime. People uninterested in dating, whether because they’re already in a relationship, or not pursuing a relationship, will enjoy having a way to experience a connection with someone without any pressure to dress up, find an activity, exchange numbers or even see each other again.

Reviews for cuddle performance, just like for Uber drivers

At the end of the date, users can rate their cuddle partners. The app also has some introduction reads and it suggests keeping the cuddle a cuddle. Cuddlr had also introduced an extra level of safety – a rating system to help people decide whether to cuddle with someone. Also offers ideas for the date: lying together in a park, window shopping, or just hugging.
